Second plaque dedicated to Col Joseph Bryks MBE

This chronologically second memorial plaque was unveiled by the pilot´s wife Trudie Bryks on June 2, 2005 at 1400 hrs. It was a brainchild of late Vaclav Kamarad. He used to be a member of the Olomouc Branch of the Confedration of Political Prisoners/KPV/  The plaque was made by a stone mason Mr Peter Salek. It is fastened to the wall by special screws imported from Italy. The cost was covered by the KPV and the local branch of the Civic Democratic Party. Members of the Sokol and Scout Organizations as well as the pilot´s nephew Mr Karel Bryks were among the attendees. The KPV was represented by Mr Milan Sehnal and the Olomouc Magistrate by Mr Vladimir Hrbal from the Culture Dpt.

Assistence of Mr Milan Sehnal and Mr Karel Kovarik is much appreciated.

The first memorial plaque to Col Joseph Bryks MBE has been at his native village of Lastany nr Olomuc since June 4, 1994. On the local Wars Victims Memorial.
