Second Memorial of Sgt Josef Frantisek

It is seen at the NE corner of the Prostejov Flying Club´s hangar. The building is situated next to the Army Car Park on the military airfield´s southern edge.

Heading for the village of Bedihost from Zesov turn left left towards the airfield. Again to the left and both the hangar and the car park are in sight. A tiny parking lot is outside the former.

The Memorial was ecected thanks to the Flying Club´s members. The unveiling ceremony was crowned by a flypast of two JAS-39 fighter planes of the Cz Air Force at 1300 hrs. The text on this propeller´s blade : The fighter pilot and the BoB ace Sgt. Josef Frantisek DFM+Bar launched his career at this grass airfield. Born at a near village of Otaslavice. He underwent his course for a fighter pilot at the local Military Aviation Academy in the 1934 - 1936 time frame.

NOTE : A stone under this blade in the picture above had been brought from the pilot´s native village of Otaslavice.
