Plaque dedicated to Joseph Mohr

We were provided with Info on this memorial plaque dedicated to the native of Velke Hamry Col. i. m. Joseph Mohr by Mrs Klara Pospisilova from the local townhall. The idea of siting this plaque on the building was  a brainchild of the Velke Hamry Sokol Sports Club´s branch. Josef Mohr had been its member in the 30s. The cost was partly covered as by the income from a bazaar held on occasion of the 150th anniversary of Velke Hamry. The rest was added by two donors.

The plaque was made by Mr Miroslav Rydval a member of local Sokol Sports Club. The unveiling ceremony was highlighted by a flypast of two JAS-39 Gripen jets of the Czech AF.

A picture of this memorial plaque was taken by the man who had been taking care of F/O Joseph Mohr´s local grave  for several years. Assisted by his group of the local youth called ´Fox Cubs´ - see the Text ´FO Josef Mohr 82622´ posted on Dec 9, 2012-  via the ˇLinks´Section and the ´Cz airmens Cemeteries´ Subsection.
