381. Cz Fighter Wing – TEXT :  Czechoslovak Wing´s HQ  consisting of Nos. 310, 312 and

        313 Sqns  was set up in May 1942. Engaged in the Jubilee Seaborn Operation, our pilots

   +   downed 17 German planes losing none. The Wing shot down 5 V-1 in July 1944 1944.

        Deployed in Belgium and Holland, they fought until May 8, 1945. Cz Fighter Wing

382. landed in Prague – Ruzyne - on Aug 13, 1945.

         Filler] Both succeeded in surviving WWII.

388. W/O Vladimir Nedved MBE DFC [Vladdyimeer Naedvyed],No 311 Sqn

389. No 312 Sqn`s pilot Sgt. Otto Hanslicek [Otto Hansleecheck] lost his life Oct 10, 1940.

        Downed over the estuary of Mersey river, he bailed but wind drifted him on the sea and

        he got drowned.

390. Jiri Manak [Yirzhee Mannyahk] was member of Nos 312 and 198 Sqn. He was the

        first Czech piloting a fast Typhoon fighter. He succeeded in ditching with her near the

        shores of Holland and was made POW

391. As a member of No 313 Sqn, F/ O Jan Laska [Yan Lashka] was killed in a mid-air

         collision with the F/Sgt Fanta`s [Fanta] plane on April 26, 1944..

395. He commanded the A Flight. Then he was appointed CO of  No 122 “City of

        Bombay” Sqn– F/Lt Frantisek Fajtl [Frantyishek Fightl]

396. Engaged in the dog fight against six Fockewulf 190s, P/O Jiri Kucera [Yirzhee

        Koocherra] warded off all the attacks on May 5, 1942.

397. Seriously wounded by a German fighter over Ostende and homing, F/Sgt. Prokop

        Brazda [Prokkop Brahzda] lost his life in a crash near Ipswich on Apr 24, 1942.

401. He carried on this plane 107 Operational Flights in the Oct 1941 – Apr 1942 Period

        - the  RY-F Mk V B Spitfire of F/Lt Fajtl [Fightl]

402. Jicha`s Spitfire after sweep over Lille. Damage to her tail was done by Fockewulf 190s

        on May 5, 1942 – P/O Vaclav Jicha [Vahtslav Yeekha]

       NOTE : Jicha`s aerobatic skills must have saved his life on only on that day. Due to his

       extraordinary piloting, he was picked by an British aerial icon Alex Henshaw for the job

       of a test pilot at Castle Bromwich and serving here was awarded the AFC.
