Graves in the Azores

The RAF station established here on Oct 8, 1943 as a result of the agreement between Great Britain and Portugal played key role in the Battle of Atlantic.

The aircraft combing the Atlantic for the U-boats taking off from here had to display dual Allied markings to conform with neutrality of Portugal.
