Seventy five years ago the third and fourth grave of crewmen of No 68 Night Fighter Sqn´s Cz flight appeared in the Scottow Cemetery.
The flight had never been hit by a blow like this. W/O Richter and F/Sgt Kovanda were burried here on Sep 9, 1942. P/O Glauder a Sgt. Vasata a week later. The coffins with the Radar Operators were carried by their colleagues - Necas and Kovarik.
W/O Richter, F/Sgt Kovanda and P/O Glauder were laid to rest in the neighbouring graves in the eighth row. Sgt Vasata´s gravestone is the first from L in the ninth row. Eight Czechoslovak airmen were burried in this Scottow Cemetery during WWII. Only six of them had served with No 68 Sqn. F/Os Mensik and Sliva byli were laid to rest in the neighbouring graves of the eleventh row on Apr 25, 1943.
Facing twelve rows of gravestones and the Cross of Sacrifice the second one from L in the first row is one of Sgt Brejcha. He served with No 257 Sqn. There is a grave of one of the Luftwaffe airmen laid to rest on this grave site to the right of the Brejcha´s . Sgt. Oldrich Haas´ gravestone, who met his death on Oct 23,1942 while serving with No 5 AOS, is the third from L in the ninth row. - https://www.fcafa..com/2015/10/19/not-forgotten-east-anglia/ - No 11 Text
