Anniversary of sure shot hunter

Col. Joseph Stehlik was born a hundred years ago. This Sat a memorial plaque dedicated to him is to be unveiled at the town of Slavicin.

This extraordinary pilot had lived there for twenty years and passed away on May 30, 1991. He saw action in the Battle of France and BoB 1940 and the Slovak National Uprising 1944.

Sgt Josef Stehlik serving with Cz No 312 Sqn is seen in No 193 picture of the Wings of Victory Exhibition. He is left to F/O Vasatko at a tailplane part of No 4068 Junkers 88A-1 bomber. This kill was shared by both of them and F/Lt Dennis Edgar Gillam on Oct 8, 1940 -  HERE
