Named not only after airmen

2016-04-24

These streets will be not situated within the Cerny most Borough but the one of Letnany.

A proposal to name these streets after five members of the RAF men, one woman, one member of the FFAF and one of the Cz 1st Fighter Regiment is to be submitted to the Capital of Prague Council. Situated on the territory of the Prague suburb of Letnany. Their names - Hluckova, Knapova, Skarvadova, Standerova, Urubova, Kadeckove, Ulehlova and Djacukova.

The above mentioned names were not proposed  by a Military Historian Jiri Rajlich as in a case of the Prague Cerny most Borough  -  HERE

This matter was masterminded by Mr Oldrich Miffek - a Vice Mayor of the Prague Letnany Borough.

NOTES :

1/ Fajtlova St is NOT among those proposed ones. The former has been within the Prague Ruzyne Borough since 2007. General Frantisek Fajtl DFC lived on the teritory of Letnany till his death on Oct 4, 2006. Both kindergarten and basic school were named after him - see www.zsfajtla.cz.

2/ The names of further three streets - Horalova, Pernického and Skarabkovych

Assistence of a Magistrate clerk Mr Jaroslav Peterka is much appreciated.
