Otakar Hruby Remembrance

A Ceremony paying tribute to a RAF pilot - one of the ´Few´- will be given by the Nova Paka Municipality on Nov 1, 2013. This event has been under preparation in co-operation with the Prague Historical Institute and the Czech Campaigners for Freedom Association It will be held on the pilot´s birthday centenary.

The members of the Masaryk and Benes Society as well as Col GHQ AF Ing Neuberg, other members of the Forces and members of the Cz Airmen Association have confirmed their attendance. The official visitors will be met by the Nova Paka Mayor. An hour later a paying tribute Ceremony will be held at a Otakar Hruby´s  DFC grave in an urn Dpt of a local cemetery. At noon a plaque funded by the Municipality will be unveiled on a house the pilot lived in at the 900, 3rd May St.

An Otakar Hruby DFC Exhibition is to be opened at the Local Museum after the lunch. It will be available here till Nov 14. The conference will be launched in the Local Grammar School´s assembly hall at 3 pm. It was prepared in co-operation with the Prague Historical Institute. A panel discussion is scheduled for 1730 hrs and from 6 pm a ´By sufferings towards the stars´ film will be seen. At 7 pm the Evergreen Dixieland Band will be playing at the party for invited guests. A ´Heavenly Rangers´ film will be put on in a local cinema at 2030 hrs.

The Hlas ie Voice Mixed Choir Nova Paka, The Rebel Pipers Pipes and Drums and Sky Riders from Hradec Kralove will be on. The members of the  Military History Club will be seen at this event drawing attention of the ones interested in the Cz members of the RAF as well as the WAAF. Schedule alteration possible.
